SURRENDER YOUR LIFE TO SERVE THE LORD

Acts 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Have you ever thought about surrendering your life to serve the Lord.  Maybe you have already told the Lord that you would do His will.  The problem is that you still do not know what His will is for your life.

Many people think that the will of God is a great mystery and they give up in frustration.  They say, "God has not shown me what He wants me to do."  These people still love the Lord and they still go to Church.  However, they do not fulfill all of the Lord's will for their life.  Fulfilling God's will is not just a matter of where but it is also a matter of what.

What is the Lord's Will?
In Acts chapter 13 we see that these people were serving the Lord in their local church.  They were not waiting around to "find" the will of God.  They were actively serving the Lord in their home church. "As they ministered to the Lord"
If we want to know the Lord's will for our life then we need to follow this example.  God's will is for us to be Baptized by Immersion after we are saved; Read our Bible & Pray every day; Give our tithes and offerings to our local Church; Fulfill the Great Commission (soul winning); and to Faithfully attend Church.  These five things are the will of God for every Believer.  In Acts 13 they were already fulfilling the Will of God for their life and then the Lord gave them further direction as to where He wanted them to serve Him.  He sent them on what we refer to as the first missionary journey.

Where is the Lord's will for my life?
If you want to know the Lord's will for your life then you need to understand that it is not a mystery.  God's will is for you to serve Him where you are in the five areas that we previously mentioned.  Then as you are fulfilling the will of God He will further direct you as to where He wants you to serve Him.  When you start fulfilling His will then He will show you the where.

God speaks to our Heart:
God deals with each of us in different ways.  He speaks to us through His Word, through preaching, through the testimonies of others, through godly counseling from your Pastor, through our eyes (what we see), and the list could go on and on.  Different missionaries and Pastors will tell you different stories of how God showed them what He wanted them to do.  Therefore, I would encourage you to fulfill God's will for you where you are, and to ask Him about where He wants you to serve Him.  It is good to take mission trips.  Through this God may call you to the mission field or he may give you a renewed desire to see the lost saved and to give to missions.  If you would like to take a missions trip then look at our page on Missionary Trips
